About Us
We offer a sensitive, professional service to the families in our care and are proud to be part of the Funeral Partners family. Together, we are leading the way in setting new standards of excellence within the profession.
The Opportunity
Based at Gillman Funeral Service - Tooting, our Funeral Service Operatives are calm, professional and play a vital role in our service. They are often the first members of the team to meet our families. A good Funeral Service Operative will be able to provide reassurance to families that we will take good care of their loved ones whilst we prepare them for their final journey. In addition to bringing people's loved ones into our care, Funeral Service Operatives play an active role behind the scenes, working in the mortuary, fitting coffins, and dressing the deceased; as well as participating in funeral services, pallbearing, and helping to ensure everything goes smoothly. Your duties will include driving company vehicles, so you'll need a full driving licence. You'll also have a place on the out of hours, and on-call rota, which will provide an opportunity to earn additional payments. Being a Funeral Service Operative can be challenging and rewarding, and no two days are quite the same. There is a chance to progress into other roles such as Funeral Director, with the right skills and determination.
