A globally established investor services firm with a strong APAC presence is hiring a Client Relationship Director for its Singapore office. The firm provides fund administration, corporate services, and fiduciary solutions to private equity, alternative funds, and corporate clients across multiple jurisdictions, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Cayman, and beyond. This is an active, hybrid-working seat based in the Singapore CBD.
The role sits within the Business Development and Sales department and partners closely with operational delivery teams across the platform. You walk into a defined portfolio of complex, technically demanding clients.
The Role
This is a true end-to-end client ownership seat. You are the senior point of contact for a portfolio of PE and alternative funds and corporate clients across APAC, accountable for revenue retention, deepening relationships, and identifying organic growth on the book. Day-to-day, you will:
- Own the commercial and contractual lifecycle for your portfolio — proposal preparation, fee renegotiation, scope‑creep handling, invoice validation, and cash collection.
- Drive On‑Time and In‑Full delivery across Fund Accounting, Corporate Secretary, Compliance, and Tax teams; root‑cause and remediate when delivery slips, and rebuild client trust without breaking internal relationships.
- Act as the senior advisor on technically complex matters — onboarding sophisticated high‑risk structures, navigating compliance and due diligence, and translating client needs into actionable workstreams.
- Partner with the Business Development team on conversion of new prospects in your sector, and lead multi‑department or multi‑jurisdiction proposals when the opportunity warrants it.
- Identify white space within the existing portfolio and grow the book through deeper service penetration, not just retention.
Multi‑jurisdictional structures are the norm here, not the exception. Expect to coordinate the same client across SG, HK, Lux, Cayman, and Mauritius depending on the vehicle.
What Makes You a Fit
You have probably spent at least five years in private equity or alternative funds within a fund administrator, asset manager, or peer service platform — long enough to have owned the full lifecycle of complex client relationships, not just supported them. You have seen the inside of high‑risk structures, walked through onboarding nuances with legal and compliance, and held the line on OTIF when delivery teams needed pushing.
What sets the right candidate apart:
- A track record in a senior client service or operational seat — Client Services Director, Operations Director, Head of Client Services, or equivalent at a fund administrator or corporate services platform.
- Hands‑on experience managing technically complex, high‑risk clients — including unregulated AIFs and large corporate structures — with named retention and growth accountability on your book.
- Real commercial fluency: you have written proposals, renegotiated fee schedules, validated invoices, recovered WIP, and protected margin on contracts that needed restructuring.
- Proven expertise in at least one core service line — fund administration, corporate secretary, fiduciary or trust, accounting and tax, or AIFM‑equivalent.
- Fluency in English plus a relevant Asian language (Mandarin, Japanese, Bahasa, Korean, or similar), with named clients and working scenarios in that language.
- Singapore‑based with full work rights.
- A diplomatic but firm working style — you can push back on a client or an internal team without breaking the relationship, and your default is accountability rather than blame.
Nice to have but not a deal‑breaker:
- Existing relationships with PE GPs, asset managers, and family offices in APAC.
- Experience leading multi‑jurisdiction teams (SG / HK / Lux / Cayman) on the same client.
- Working relationships with intermediaries — fund counsel, tax advisers, lawyers.
- A degree in Corporate Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline at master's level.
What is On Offer
- Competitive Director‑level base remuneration with a performance‑linked variable structure.
- Comprehensive private health and dental cover, life assurance.
- 25 days paid annual leave plus statutory public holidays, with parental and education leave.
- Hybrid working from the Singapore CBD office.
- A genuine end‑to‑end seat — revenue, relationships, commercials, and delivery quality on the same book, not split between sales and ops.
- Multi‑jurisdictional client exposure on the same accounts, with the platform reach of a global investor services firm.
