The role:

As a Senior Engineer in the Cloud Platform team, you will be joining a team who thrives on building high quality, secure, scalable and observable solutions for the business to run on. We aim to empower the product team by building the tools for them to self-service their needs and reduce the toil required for everyday working. Being able to ship code at a high velocity whilst maintaining our high standards is our goal every day.
Responsibilities:
- Owning initiatives alongside Leads and Managers, working to plan and communicate, as well as deliver for high impact.
- Deliver high quality solutions that continually drive us to give the best experience and outcomes to all of our customers.
- Making decisions that keep our Cloud Platform secure, cost effective, and resilient for our customers.
- Empower engineers with varying levels of infrastructure expertise to be self-sufficient through a combination of supporting, mentoring and evangelism of our tools and practices.
- Proactively problem solving, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day.
What we’re looking for:
- Passion for modern software development principles and empowered, self-sufficient, high performance, product teams.
- Hands-on experience architecting and scaling AWS environments, with an understanding of Kubernetes and Serverless patterns to build resilient, cost-effective, and scalable infrastructure.
- A proactive mindset toward reliability, utilising our monitoring stack for deep system insights and incident.io to foster a healthy, blameless culture of incident response and continuous improvement.
- Champion Infrastructure-as-Code first approach ensures that our ecosystem is automated, reproducible and consistent with Terraform being our main tool of choice.
- Proficiency of Python preferred to support our mindset of automation first engineering to keep toil down and produce reliable outputs consistently.
- Mature AI outlook with solid experience in using (personal projects are fine!) and an understanding of how best it can deliver value.
