The role:
- Location: London (Hybrid) | 2 days in the office | Competitive Salary + Benefits
You’ll make a real difference for our customers and your team from day one. We believe the fastest way to grow is by doing, so we give you the ownership to run with things and see real-time results.
- Owns the data modelling strategy, sets standards for data modelling, transformations, and governance.
- Leads the design and implementation of new features, such as the creation of a new star schema and other best practices to optimise data usability.
- Sets best practices and standards on how we use SQL, dbt, Python, Pyspark and/or other languages to solve business problems.
- Becomes an expert in the business subject area the team are working on, holding expertise on both the business requirements as well as the technical implementation.
- Delivers high quality code, provides technical mentorship and ensures the team is building scalable, maintainable data models.
- Co-owns the backlog with the Engineering Manager and helps to break down technical requirements.
What we’re looking for:
- Extensive experience in SQL, Python, Pyspark and/or other languages relevant to data processing.
- Extensive experience in dbt and ideally Airflow (or other orchestration tools).
- Extensive experience in Entity-Relationship modelling and Dimensional modelling.
- Experience with Cloud Data Warehousing (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks or BigQuery) and Cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure).
- Familiarity with Tableau.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
- Able to architect custom AI solutions and smart automated systems that are safe, maintainable, and aligned with our long-term mission.
