We are seeking a proactive and curious developer to join our newly expanded Marketing Technology & Automation team. You will develop integrations and automated data pipelines between marketing platforms, internal business systems and data products - unlocking new capabilities for the CRM Team and wider Marketing department, while modernising or replacing legacy processes. This is a new role in a team with a broad and transformational remit - you will be key in shaping it. You will be breaking ground to enable cutting-edge features of marketing tools and embed their use in core operations.
Who are we? We’re Funding Circle. We back small businesses to succeed. At Funding Circle, we believe the world needs small businesses. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to help them get the finance they need to grow. With more than a decade of expertise under our belt, we’ve built a game-changer of a platform with cutting-edge data and technology that’s reshaping the landscape of SME lending.
The role involves:
- Integration design - build and maintain scalable data pipelines between marketing technology tools, and both internal and external data sources.
- Technical governance - monitor and own the health of our engineered solutions. Identify and mitigate risks, issues or control weaknesses, create accessible documentation, and support views of data and system reliability.
- Act as a technical expert and pair with product engineering leads - coworking on solutions and steering solution design using your marketing domain expertise.
- Work closely with non-technical stakeholders in Marketing to plan and deliver new end-to-end operational processes.
- Play a key role in re-engineering and migrating legacy data processes to modern, more efficient solutions.
- Steering long-term transformation and change through a new suite of marketing platforms, data products, and operating model for the department.
- Proactively problem solving, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working on data integrations in frontend and backend contexts, and familiarity with common concepts (authentication, pagination, retries, JSON parsing).
- Experience with Python (backend), Javascript/React (frontend).
- Familiarity with event-driven data architectures, Kafka, or other realtime data processes.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills, comfort collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm for multi-disciplinary problem-solving - you enjoy working with evolving technologies and bridging domains of expertise.
- Passion for continuous improvement and change - you are thoughtful about how your day-to-day work can solve immediate needs while advancing tech and data maturity.
- Existing familiarity with AWS (S3, Athena) or SQL is not essential but a strong nice-to-have.
At Funding Circle we are committed to building diverse teams so please apply even if your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the requirements.
Why join us? At Funding Circle, we celebrate and support the differences that make you, you. We’re proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace and affirmative-action employer. We truly believe that diversity makes us better.
