We are looking for a Compliance Advisory Officer in our Compliance team. The team are an essential component of Funding Circle’s second line of defence risk framework. They advise and challenge the Business Teams with respect to Compliance with regulatory requirements and Funding Circle policies.

The role Your role will be to work closely with the Compliance and other Business Teams to support the delivery of the Compliance plan. Your reporting will provide the Legal and Compliance Leadership Team and Senior Management with a clear picture of how the business is complying with its regulatory obligations, identify areas for development and make constructive recommendations for improvement. Act as a key point of contact for business units seeking Compliance advice, offering timely, accurate, and pragmatic solutions. Work with teams across the business and gain a deep understanding of their processes and understand the regulatory and policy impacts. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders within the business. Attend key business meetings and where necessary to challenge and influence to ensure Compliance risks are adequately addressed. Review and approve financial promotions across various channels (e.g., marketing materials, website content, customer communications) to ensure compliance with FCA regulations and internal policies. Design and implement Compliance policies, standards and training materials, including those that support new products and processes. Build and sustain technical knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., SMCR, COBS, SYSC), keeping up to date with new developments and the latest regulatory position. Provide expert guidance and interpretation on all aspects of SMCR, including individual accountability, regulatory expectations, and practical implementation. Support the business in maintaining accurate SMCR documentation and records. Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends related to SMCR, Financial Promotions, Lending etc. and assess their potential impact on the business. Proactively problem solving, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day.

What we’re looking for Minimum 1 year of Compliance experience. Experience within Payments, Lending or Card products would be beneficial, but not essential. Strong practical understanding of Financial Services regulations, especially those relevant to Lending platforms.
