We are on a mission to back the UK's small businesses like no one else. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, and we are here to help them win. We have built a platform that uses clever data to get them the funding they need in minutes, not weeks. At Funding Circle, we have the restless energy of a fintech start-up with the stability of a public company. It's a unique mix that gives Circlers the autonomy to take ownership and the scale to make an impact that truly counts. We are a high-performing team that chooses to lift each other up. We challenge, we champion, and we have each other's backs - because we know that when we stand together, we move faster and build better. The impact is real: Last year alone, the businesses on our platform generated £7.2bn for the UK economy.
The role is based in London (Hybrid) with 3 days in the office and offers a competitive salary plus benefits. We are looking for an Analytics Lead to join our FlexiPay team. With a focus on Existing Customers, this is a pivotal role where you will manage and drive a high-performing analytics function, directly influencing strategic decisions and shaping the future roadmap of our products. This role is a unique opportunity to directly influence the future strategy for driving engagement and commercial outcomes within our FlexiPay and Credit Card lines of business.
You will manage a dedicated team of three analysts, fostering their development as key partners to teams across product, risk, finance, and operations. A core focus will be on leveraging data to maximise customer lifetime value, improve retention, and boost engagement. Furthermore, you will ensure robust measurement of our impact, thereby establishing a continuous cycle of improvement and innovation.
- Customer Lifecycle Strategy: Establish and execute measurement frameworks for CRM and lifecycle marketing to monitor retention and engagement across all customer segments.
- Customer Segmentation: Leverage advanced segmentation and behavioural data to identify high-value customers, mitigate churn risks, and drive "next-best-action" strategies.
- Performance Measurement: Develop and own the global frameworks for measuring performance, including A/B testing protocols and calculating the incremental impact (ROI) of customer engagement initiatives.
- Planning, Forecasting & Reporting: Collaborate with finance, risk, and business stakeholders to drive yearly budget planning, financial forecasting, and scenario modeling. Ensure data integrity, user adoption, and alignment with broader analytics and reporting frameworks.
- Talent Development: Hire, grow, and inspire top-tier analytics talent. Act as a coach and unblocker, maximising the impact and potential of the analytics team.
- Strategic Leadership: Understand customers, product vision, and business strategy deeply. Define and execute how analytics achieves product and business objectives, embedding data and insights into all decisions.
- Data Champion: Build and communicate the compelling "analytics story" within Funding Circle. Champion a rigorous experimentation and testing culture, promote consistency in data definitions and approaches, and ensure a robust, data-driven approach to all key strategic decisions.
- Proactively problem solving: Identify and confidently mitigate any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day.
What we are looking for: We value deep expertise, but a growth mindset and good energy are what really make our team click. We are a group that chooses to lift each other up and think smart every day.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on data manipulation and analysis expertise, including strong scripting/coding skills (and the ability to coach others) in SQL, Python (or R) and AWS cloud.
- Customer Lifecycle Management: Expertise in designing and measuring A/B testing for lifecycle marketing, including retention, cross-sell, and loyalty initiatives.
- Segmentation & Behavioural Analytics: Deep understanding of cohort analysis and behavioural triggers to identify high-value segments at risk of low survivability.
- Stakeholder Management: Navigating cross-functional partnerships with Risk, Marketing, Product, and Finance teams to ensure delivery of data-driven solutions.
- Analytical Acumen: Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/sensitive situations.
- Storyteller with Data: Exceptional ability to simplify complex data and articulate compelling stories that drive positive organisational change.
- Team Builder & Developer: Demonstrated success in leading, developing, supporting, and growing teams of analysts, enabling them to effectively partner across the organisation, build trusted relationships, and drive data-based decisions.
- Collaborative Project Ownership: Experience co-owning team-wide projects, effectively bringing teams together to plan solutions around problems using OKRs and KPIs that deliver tangible impact.
We are building a place where everyone truly feels they belong. Even if your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every requirement, we would still love to hear from you.
