We’re on a mission to back the UK’s small businesses like no one else. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, and we’re here to help them win. We’ve built a platform that uses clever data to get them the funding they need in minutes, not weeks.
At Funding Circle, we have the restless energy of a fintech start-up with the stability of a public company. It’s a unique mix that gives Circlers the autonomy to take ownership and the scale to make an impact that truly counts. We’re a high-performing team that chooses to lift each other up. We challenge, we champion, and we have each other’s backs - because we know that when we stand together, we move faster and build better.
The impact is real: Last year alone, the businesses on our platform generated £7.2bn for the UK economy. Come and join a mission that matters!
The role is based in London (Hybrid) with 2 days in the office and offers a competitive salary plus benefits.
The Account Manager is a proven high performer within the Inbound Sales team. In this position, you are the face (or voice) of Funding Circle to the customer dealing with inbound leads in the form of business loan applications. The focus of the role is to assist the customer with their queries and educate them on both the Funding Circle offering and wider business context. You will be targeted on your conversion of the value offered by these inbound leads to the value of accepted loans.
- Establishing instant rapport with your customers via telephone & email to cultivate successful relationships.
- Knowledge and understanding of the wider lending market and Funding Circle’s direct competitors.
- Pitching the Funding Circle proposition against alternative funding options available.
- Managing a high-volume, fast-paced pipeline; supporting your clients through each stage of creating an application.
- Being responsible for your own monthly target and continuously developing & improving your approach to help you get there.
- Proactively problem solving, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day.
- Adding value through upsell and cross-sell of Funding Circle products as well as partner lenders within the Marketplace.
What we’re looking for:
- Relevant experience in a high volume sales environment focused on closing deals - a background in lending/commercial finance is preferable.
- A strong communicator, confident to engage with small business owners over the phone and via email.
- Ability to continually develop and maintain your pipeline whilst managing applications in progress.
- Proactivity and a desire to develop your career and take onboard feedback - continuous development is a key part of sales at Funding Circle and we are looking for people keen to grow!
