Funding Circle

Overview

Funding Circle is building a platform that uses clever data to support small businesses. We are a high-performing team that values ownership, collaboration, and impact. London-based, hybrid work with a flexible-first approach.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain full-stack web applications, including front-end development, serverless or containerised back-ends, APIs, and database storage. Employ technologies suited to GenAI applications (MCP, Knowledge Bases, Agent to Agent communication, Agent Catalogues, LLM output monitoring and evaluation systems, etc.).
  • Take ownership of and accelerate the development of flagship GenAI products, such as an internal "Customer Profile," to reduce time-to-value and iterate rapidly based on user feedback.
  • Collaborate directly with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, product engineers, and product managers in a rapid experimentation and prototyping environment.
  • Embrace and drive a culture of full lifecycle ownership, including design, development, ongoing production support, maintenance, and on-call duties.
  • Help evolve cross-functional operating models by establishing robust, repeatable processes and best practices for building end-to-end AI applications.
  • Proven expertise in building, testing, and deploying modern full-stack web applications with strong skills in front-end frameworks (e.g., React), back-end technologies (Python, serverless, containerised apps, APIs), and database storage.
  • Maintain a product-focused mindset with experience taking applications from concept to production, including maintenance and on-call responsibilities.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and familiarity with infrastructure concepts (CI/CD, containerisation, serverless) to build scalable and reliable applications.
  • Excellent ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team, managing stakeholders and translating complex technical ideas and user feedback into features.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; comfortable with ambiguity and able to drive initiatives forward.
  • Strong interest and hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies, such as LLM-based applications, RAG, or agent frameworks, with a willingness to learn and develop in this area.
  • Knowledge of event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka) is a plus; willingness to learn is a requirement.
