We challenge, we champion, and we have each other’s backs - because we know that when we stand together, we move faster and build better. The impact is real: Last year alone, the businesses on our platform generated £7.2bn for the UK economy.
The role is based in London (Hybrid) with 2 days in the office and offers a competitive salary plus benefits. The Head of Engineering, Multi-Product Experiences will be responsible for leading the engineering teams dedicated to Multi-Product Experiences. The group consists of existing teams being brought together under a newly defined mission: to deliver a seamless lifetime customer experience. They will achieve this through unifying and streamlining product-agnostic customer journeys and business processes, while ensuring seamless integration with product-specific customer journeys and core business processes.
You will be accountable for setting the technology strategy for Multi-Product Experiences, and achieving the outcomes for your group across technology & architecture, engineering excellence and talent & ways of working. In addition, you will be accountable for the successful execution of the prioritised product roadmap, progress towards target state architecture, and delivery against strategic business objectives, as well as:
- Be a team builder: you’ll support, manage, and mentor engineering managers and staff engineers of varying experience levels. You will create the group structure to scale and grow with the values of the company.
- Be a driver: you’ll operationalise strategic goals, drive company and product direction, prioritise resources, and realise incremental value. You’ll implement effective engineering processes, technology, and policies for sustained growth.
- Be an AI champion: proactively seek opportunities and realise value through the use of AI across the SDLC and PDLC.
- Be a Funding Circle Rep: you’ll represent Funding Circle engineering and management at industry events, and help grow our brand within the community.
- Be a collaborator: you’ll forge deep bonds with your business counterparts, understanding their needs and sharing ownership of their outcomes.
- Be a teacher: be generous with your time and expertise to educate and upskill stakeholders and fellow engineering leaders.
What we’re looking for: We value deep expertise, but a growth mindset and good energy are what really make our team click. We’re a group that chooses to lift each other up and think smart every day.
- Experienced in engineering management and technical leadership having successfully led engineering reorganisations.
- Experienced in delivering mission-critical, high-value products and services, and have expertise in effective partnering with Product counterparts.
- Experienced with Agile methodologies, engineering metrics and making data-driven decisions, and building high-performing teams.
- Experienced in working in a fast-paced environment and are able to successfully navigate and lead through change.
We’re building a place where everyone truly feels they belong. Even if your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you.

How to prepare for a job interview at Funding Circle
✨Brush Up on Your Coding Skills
For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.
✨Know Your Tools and Frameworks
Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Funding Circle uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.
✨Showcase Your Projects
Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.
✨Prepare for Behavioural Questions
While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
