Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer – Accounts & Card team (Credit Risk Platform, Core Services). Location and Compensation: London (Hybrid). 2 days in the office. Competitive salary + benefits.

Responsibilities

  • You love to build new things and also enjoy working on legacy codebases.
  • You enjoy functional programming, microservices and/or event‑driven architecture.
  • You are a collaborator, encouraging pairing over siloed work.
  • You act as a teacher, sharing knowledge with stakeholders and engineers.
  • You proactively problem‑solve and mitigate risks, issues or control weaknesses.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Python and Serverless.
  • Strong fundamentals in programming (data structures, algorithms).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Interest or experience in functional programming, distributed systems or event‑driven architecture (e.g. Apache Kafka).
  • Knowledge of decision engines is a plus.
  • Ability to architect custom AI solutions and smart automated systems that are safe, maintainable and aligned with a long‑term mission.
  • Act as a technical bridge and mentor, training others across the company.
