We’re on a mission to back the UK’s small businesses like no one else. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, and we’re here to help them win. We’ve built a platform that uses clever data to get them the funding they need in minutes, not weeks. At Funding Circle, we have the restless energy of a fintech start‑up with the stability of a public company. It’s a unique mix that gives Circlers the autonomy to take ownership and the scale to make an impact that truly counts. We’re a high‑performing team that chooses to lift each other up. We challenge, we champion, and we have each other’s backs – because we know that when we stand together, we move faster and build better.
The impact is real: Last year alone, the businesses on our platform generated ÂŁ7.2bn for the UK economy.
We are looking for a Product Mobile QA Engineer in our FlexiPay team.
The role:
- Work as a core member of a cross‑functional team (Product, Design, and Development) to define “Done” and create comprehensive test plans and cases from the start.
- Perform deep‑dive manual testing on iOS and Android to uncover usability issues, UI inconsistencies, and complex functional bugs.
- Execute functional and automated tests to verify the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of all mobile functionality.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of robust, scalable, and reusable UI automated testing frameworks.
- Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with developers to prioritise, verify, and ensure timely resolution and retesting.
- Proactively identify potential quality bottlenecks or risks in the delivery pipeline and suggest improvements to testing best practices.
- Assist with the validation of builds for the App Store and Google Play Store to ensure smooth deployments.
- Participate in technical discussions and refinement sessions to ensure requirements are testable and clear.
- Prioritise competing demands and manage multiple concurrent tasks while adapting to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proactively problem solve, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day‑to‑day.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 3+ years of technical experience in a QA or Software Engineering role.
- Proven hands‑on experience testing React Native applications and understanding the nuances of cross‑platform mobile development.
- Minimum 2–3 years of mobile app automation experience using tools such as Maestro, Detox, or similar frameworks.
- Strong programming abilities and debugging skills, with a sharp eye for detail in both manual exploratory testing and automated scripts.
- Familiarity with mobile debugging tools (e.g., React Native Debugger) and crash reporting tools like Firebase.
- Ability to test and validate REST APIs and understand their interaction with the mobile front‑end.
- Experience working within a continuous delivery environment and a solid understanding of build pipelines and Agile practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to function as a strong team player and explain technical bugs to both engineers and stakeholders.
We’re building a place where everyone truly feels they belong. Even if your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you.
Why join us:
- We back you to build an incredible career. As a flexible‑first employer, we use a “best of both” approach. We’ll see you in our London office to collaborate – with barista coffee and subsidised Just Eat lunches on us!
- Our Circler Proposition Focuses On Five Areas:
- Flexibility: We provide a benefit allowance you can tailor to your own life and family.
- Health: This includes private medical and dental, health assessments, and access to a digital GP.
- Wealth: We offer life assurance, share schemes, and financial coaching.
- Development: You get a dedicated annual learning allowance to help you level up.
- Lifestyle: We have electric car and cycle‑to‑work schemes, plus season ticket loans.
