Role Summary

Capital Markets Associate – responsible for executing the funding strategy, cultivating investor relationships, and supporting capital markets initiatives.

Location

London (Hybrid) – 3 days in office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the transaction execution process for various capital markets transactions, including securitisations (e. g., SBOLT), credit facilities, and loan sales, coordinating due diligence steps, preparing data tapes, managing the closing of funding facilities, and providing comments on legal documentation.
  • Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with institutional investors such as banks, asset managers, and hedge funds, preparing high‑quality investor presentations, responding to complex information requests, and coordinating investor meetings and roadshows; serve as a key point of contact for rating agencies, legal advisors, and other stakeholders during transactions.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to analyse portfolio performance, forecast cash flows, assess potential deal structures, and evaluate the impact on funding costs.
  • Prepare regular performance reports for internal and external stakeholders, tracking key metrics, analysing trends, and ensuring adherence to contractual requirements.
  • Monitor capital markets trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and risks for the funding strategy; act as a technical subject matter expert on current regulations, interpreting developments and communicating practical implications to investors.
  • Build a strong internal network and collaborate with Finance, Risk, Legal, Product, and Data Science to ensure alignment on capital markets initiatives and drive strategic projects.
  • Support and lead projects and analysis that align with broader lending objectives and support team development initiatives to increase market and deal knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 3‑5 years of experience in structured finance at a rating agency, investment bank, fintech lender, asset manager, or similar financial institution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, STEM, or related field.
  • Solid understanding of debt capital markets products and financing structures, particularly securitisation and warehouse facilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience in financial modelling and analysing large datasets.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to articulate complex financial concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Highly organised with strong project management capabilities, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
