We are looking for an Engineering Manager in our Product Engineering team. The role sits within our Loans Engineering Group, leading one of the teams responsible for the cutting-edge platform our customers use to apply for Funding Circle’s class-leading term loan products.

Responsibilities
- You will be accountable for the successful execution of the prioritised roadmap for your area, delivering on our objectives both from a business and technology standpoint.
- You’ll also be responsible for levelling up your team’s product development maturity, helping to achieve our goal of engineering excellence and to make progress towards our target architecture.
- Team Builder: Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team environment, empowering engineers to excel. Facilitate open communication, resolve conflicts constructively, and foster a culture of mutual respect and support, ensuring an engaged, high-performing team.
- Strategic Driver: Drive company and team goals by effectively prioritising work, planning capacity and ensuring timely delivery. Implement robust engineering processes, promote strategic technology adoption, and establish clear policies to support sustained growth.
- Funding Circle Advocate: Represent Funding Circle at industry events, actively contributing to brand growth and fostering strong community relationships.
- Strong Collaborator: Forge strong partnerships with business stakeholders, deeply understanding their needs and sharing ownership of successful outcomes.
- Knowledge Sharer: Serve as a mentor and educator, generously sharing your expertise to empower stakeholders and engineers to independently solve problems.
What we’re looking for
- Prior or current experience in either management or technical leadership (ideally with at least 1 year’s experience in a management position).
- Track record of delivering mission-critical, high-value products and services, working towards these using agile methodologies and by taking a pragmatic approach to leadership and delivery.
- Good understanding and experience of how to make use of engineering performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Somebody who can embody Funding Circle’s values, and is able to positively impact and lead a close team.
