The Head of Engineering heads up the Core Services engineering team. The team are the drivers behind our core product agnostic capabilities – brilliant people working together to create, code, and build the next game changers.

The role involves:

• Being accountable for achieving the technology deliverables for your group across technology & architecture, engineering excellence and talent & ways of working.
• Accountability for the successful execution of the prioritised product roadmap to progress towards target state architecture and deliver business objectives.
• Supporting, managing, and mentoring engineering managers of varying experience levels.
• Operationalising strategic goals, driving company and product direction, prioritising resources, and realising incremental value.
• Implementing effective engineering processes, technology, and policies for sustained growth.
• Representing Funding Circle engineering and management at industry events, and helping grow our brand within the community.
• Forging deep bonds with business counterparts, understanding their needs and sharing ownership of their outcomes.
• Educating and upskilling stakeholders and fellow engineering leaders.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in engineering management and technical leadership.
• Experience in delivering mission-critical, high-value products, and services.
• Experience with Agile Methodologies, engineering metrics, and building high-performing teams.
• Experience in working in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment.
