We are looking for a hands-on and strategic IT Manager to lead the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable corporate technology across FundApps. Supporting approximately 270 colleagues across five international offices and hybrid working environments, you will be responsible for the technology experience of our people from their first day at FundApps through to their last. You will work closely with Information Security, People, Finance, Legal and different team leaders to ensure that FundApps’ corporate technology supports the growth and needs of our organisation. This role has a broad scope, as you will work across identity, devices, SaaS, automation, and office infrastructure. As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for managing IT analysts located in other locations and time zones to provide a resilient IT support experience to users worldwide.

What you will own:

  • FundApps’ global corporate IT strategy roadmap in service of the company goals.
  • The global IT support service, including service levels, escalations, incident management, employee satisfaction and continuous improvement.
  • The Joiner, mover and leaver processes and IAM processes for over 270 users.
  • A fleet of MacOS, Windows and Azure Virtual Desktops across 5 offices.
  • Administration of the companies SaaS estate and AI tooling.
  • Office connectivity, Wi-Fi, meeting-room systems and associated workplace technology across 5 offices.
  • Operation of the corporate IT security and compliance controls in partnership with the security team.
  • Management of IT vendors, contracts, licences and expenditure, balancing cost, employee experience, security and long-term maintainability.

How We Work:

This role has a lot of freedom to solve problems in ways that achieve our outcomes and align with our values. You will be expected to take ownership of your work from Day 1. To thrive at FundApps, you will need to be comfortable with uncertainty and embrace change as it comes. We value people who take charge of their destiny and help make things better for everyone around them.

What You'll Bring To The Team:

  • Background: You are an IT Manager with experience managing complex estates. You are comfortable operating autonomously, making sound decisions and asking for input or support when it will improve the outcome. You keep your users’ productivity at the heart of what you do.
  • Work-with-purpose: You can articulate the value of your own work in larger projects or team-wide goals. You have the space to own and deliver solutions and are comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
  • Have-courage: You are comfortable asking for and giving feedback. You help others when needed and participate in debates, brainstorms, and other team conversations regularly. You build strong relationships with your colleagues across the wider company and can respectfully challenge one another to understand the problem and find the best solutions.
  • Be-transparent: As a company, we value and aspire to transparency at all levels; you’ll provide work updates to communicate regularly about progress and blockers and reach out for help when needed.
  • Raise-the-bar: You seek out opportunities to improve our workflows, processes, and practices; 1% improvements over time improve things for everyone.
  • Do-more-with-less: You identify and help implement improvements to processes and standards within the team, seek to optimise our workflows, and share ideas for how to automate manual tasks. As a company, we try to minimise meetings (we have meeting-free Wednesdays) and default to asynchronous written communication over long, multiple-person meetings.

A Few Things To Know Before You Apply:

We are currently hiring across multiple levels and base salary for this role is between £65,000-£75,000. The final offer will be made based on your experience and your performance during the interview process. We require candidates to have permission to work in the UK without visa sponsorship. We work hybrid and ask that new FundAppers spend 3 days per week at our shiny London office during their first 6 months, to make the most of getting to know the business and other FundAppers. After that, our policy is at least 2 days per week in the office to collaborate, connect and make the most of our shared space.

Life at FundApps:

  • Work/life balance with flexible hybrid working
  • Wellbeing benefits such as private health insurance, life insurance, a flexible stipend and mental health coaching
  • Matched pension contribution up to 10%
  • Peer micro-bonuses through Bonusly
  • £1,000 learning budget each year and unlimited professional development leave
  • Peer-led ‘Brown-bag lunch’ learning sessions and an annual Learning Festival
  • 25 days holiday leave + an extra day next year if you use it all + an extra day after 3 & 5 years
  • 5 Years @ FundApps - additional 4 weeks paid holiday leave during your 5th year as a FundApper
  • 26 weeks leave for all new parents regardless of gender, location or family structure
  • Volunteering leave

How to prepare for a job interview at FundApps

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
