The Fundamental Group started out as a media agency, specialising in clients within the Asset Management and Higher Education sectors. Our vision was to become a leading specialist, and we have achieved this through a combination of contemporary and innovative technologies. This includes our in‑house proprietary performance marketing technologies and reporting platforms, in‑house programmatic solutions, research team and most importantly our people, each with expert sector knowledge. Within your role, you will be working on the following:

  • Plan and buy relevant media and present media proposals, including timings and cost breakdown.
  • Use analysis to drive decisions in a way that yields sustained, measurable results.
  • Maintain strong relationships with assigned clients.
  • Proactively communicate to provide project updates, gather feedback, and address any concerns.
  • Understand their goals, objectives, and challenges and serve as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end execution of client projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop project timelines, deliverables, and ensure on‑time and within‑budget completion.
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure projects are delivered within budgetary constraints.
  • Provide clients with accurate budget updates.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling additional services or expanding existing projects to drive revenue growth.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of your clients' industry/segment, audience profiles, and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate with creative, media, and technology teams to ensure all aspects of client projects are executed effectively and seamlessly.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Lead by example, sharing industry knowledge and best practices.
  • Attending in person or online meetings with clients and publishers and sharing relevant opportunities with clients and internal teams.

About You

  • Experience of working in a similar media buying / planning role.
  • Strong digital media experience particularly display, content marketing and social media.
  • An interest and passion in analysing your campaigns and pushing for the best outcome.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and good interpersonal skills: Persuasive and diplomatic.
  • Demonstrable ability to make sensible, intelligent decisions in difficult and deadline driven situations.
  • A passionate approach to tasks with a can‑do attitude - committed to upholding professional standards while being flexible and self‑motivated.
  • Proven ability to create outstanding media strategies.
  • The skills to handle multiple accounts and projects, ensuring client retention.
  • Experience of liaising with and presenting recommendations to clients; excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to recognise good media opportunities and the ability to develop new ideas/concepts.
  • An interest in financial news, business, economics or willingness to learn and stay up to date with these areas.
  • Fluent in spoken & written English. Other languages are welcomed.
