We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Waiter to join our front-of-house team and help deliver an outstanding dining experience that reflects the standards and energy of the Gaia brand.

Role Overview

The Head Waiter is responsible for leading a section during service, ensuring guests receive professional, warm, and attentive hospitality at all times. The ideal candidate will possess strong food and beverage knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can support junior team members, maintain exceptional service standards, and contribute positively to the overall guest journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional guest service throughout the dining experience

  • Manage and oversee a designated section during service

  • Ensure tables are prepared and maintained to the highest standards

  • Provide detailed menu and beverage recommendations confidently

  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and coordinate effectively with the kitchen and bar teams

  • Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns professionally and efficiently

  • Support and mentor junior waiters, runners, and commis staff

  • Maintain strong knowledge of menu items, allergens, specials, and wine pairings

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and company standards

  • Assist management in achieving service excellence and operational efficiency

Job requirements

  • Candidate Requirements

    • Previous experience as a Head Waiter or Senior Waiter in a high-end restaurant or luxury hospitality venue

    • Strong understanding of fine dining service standards

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Professional appearance and presentation

    • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment

    • Passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction

    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

    • Good food and wine knowledge; Mediterranean cuisine experience is advantageous

    • Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus

    • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
