We are recruiting a Lab Engineer / Laboratory IT Support Engineer to provide hands‑on IT and EUC support within a scientific / R&D laboratory environment. This is a fully onsite role, supporting scientists with laboratory PCs, instruments and connected devices. This position is highly practical and suited to someone with strong desktop support, Active Directory and lab‑facing IT experience, rather than corporate service desk backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end‑user computing (EUC) and desktop support to scientists and lab users
- Image, build and onboard laboratory PCs and devices to the network
- Support laboratory instrumentation, device connectivity and data flows
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity issues
- Use ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems for incident management
- Support secure and validated environments, including GxP / non‑GxP systems
- Assist with documentation, testing and validation of laboratory systems
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Lab Engineer, Lab IT Support, EUC Engineer or Desktop Support Engineer
- Experience supporting laboratory or R&D environments
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory
- Hands‑on desktop support / break‑fix experience
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, subnetting, connectivity)
- Experience with ServiceNow or ticketing systems
Desirable
- Pharma, biotech or life sciences background
- Experience supporting scientific or analytical instruments
- Exposure to validated or regulated environments
