As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Functional Skills Administrator to play a key role in ensuring the smooth, compliant, and effective operation of our Functional Skills provision.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on administrative role supporting the day-to-day delivery of Functional Skills programmes. You will work closely with the Functional Skills Manager, tutors, assessors, and awarding bodies to ensure learner records, exams, funding, and compliance are managed to a high standard.
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in Functional Skills administration who is looking to take the next step in responsibility within a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Learner & Programme Administration
- Manage learner enrolment, onboarding, and programme set-up
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records across systems
- Support learners throughout their Functional Skills journey
Exams & Awarding Bodies
- Coordinate and manage Functional Skills exam bookings (Pearson, City & Guilds, NCFE)
- Act as the main point of contact with awarding bodies
- Ensure exam entries, results, and certifications are processed accurately and on time
Funding & Compliance
- Manage ILR data and ensure accuracy and compliance
- Use PDSAT to monitor funding eligibility and evidence
- Maintain funding evidence to ESFA standards
- Support internal checks and external audits, including ESFA and Ofsted
Operational Support
- Support tutors and assessors with administrative and compliance requirements
- Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of key tasks
- Identify issues and proactively resolve data or compliance risks
Experience & SkillsEssential
- Proven experience in Functional Skills administration
- Strong knowledge of ILR, funding rules, and compliance
- Experience working with awarding bodies
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator with internal teams and external stakeholders
Desirable
- Advanced Excel or strong data-handling skills
- Experience supporting audits or inspections
