We are seeking a freelance Series Producer / Showrunner (Development Project) to join as soon as possible. Contract Length: approx 6 weeks.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the editorial development and creative vision of the concept sizzle from pre-production through delivery.
- Shape story structure, character arcs, and relationship dynamics to create compelling, character-led storytelling.
- Work closely with the Executive Producers, Director, and production team to refine the format and editorial approach.
- Direct the creative approach during filming, identifying emerging storylines and adapting editorial plans as required.
- Produce clear editorial documentation, including story beats, scene plans, and development materials.
- Guide the edit to ensure the final sizzle effectively demonstrates the format, tone, and long-term series potential.
- Extensive experience as a Series Producer or Showrunner on constructed reality, reality, comedy entertainment, or character-led factual productions.
- Exceptional editorial judgement with the ability to shape compelling character-led stories, balancing comedy, emotion, conflict, and warmth.
- Strong instinct for comedy, with the ability to recognise engaging personalities, authentic relationships, and naturally funny situations.
- Experience producing development materials, including sizzles, tasters, proof-of-concepts, and pitch films for broadcasters and streaming platforms.
- Excellent understanding of digital-first talent, creator culture, and younger-skewing audiences.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing creative teams and collaborating with Executive Producers and contributors.
- Excellent writing skills with experience producing editorial documents, story beats, scene plans, and development materials.
- Calm, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with the ability to make confident editorial decisions in a fast-paced development environment.
