What’s on offer? We are seeking a suitably experienced and driven Regional Safety Manager for our South Australian and Northern Territory (Central Region) Infrastructure Services business, based in Mile End, reporting to the General Manager – Central Region FHIS. Our operational remit includes asphalt and spray seal operations, road maintenance, minor civil construction, asphalt production, laboratories, emulsion, and speciality products.

You will provide safety leadership to a high-performing safety team, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and company standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordination of deployment schedules to meet program requirements.
  • Monitoring and managing Health and Safety KPIs, and implementing strategies for improvement.
  • Liaising with client Health and Safety personnel to exceed expectations.
  • Planning and conducting compliance audits to identify improvements.
  • Providing leadership support in risk management, incident investigation, quality control, and environmental management.
  • Driving performance improvements through trend analysis, reporting, and compliance initiatives.
  • Developing strategic plans to manage workplace risks and ensure legal compliance.

How you’ll connect to the role? We seek a candidate with relevant experience from top or mid-tier contractors involved in construction or engineering maintenance projects. A tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or a related discipline, Lead Auditing Qualification (preferably ICAM lead investigator), and expertise in safety systems and incident investigation are essential. You should be capable of leading, developing, engaging, coaching, and building relationships at all organizational levels. Strong report writing, presentation skills, and client interaction are critical.
