As a Pavement Quality Technician for our Eastern Region Surfacing teams, you will be responsible for monitoring asphalt compaction for density testing and field testing of asphalt. This position is a permanent full-time opportunity and will require regular travel, working nights and weekends throughout our peak season.

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable individual who is willing to learn on the job working with our operations based within the Sydney Metropolitan, Kembla Grange and Bushells Ridge Surfacing teams. This position will see you:

  • Communicating with the Site Engineer and Supervisor for daily duty assignments.
  • Working with the Asphalt Paving Foreman and Roller Operators on roller patterns to achieve optimum compaction through use of a Pavement Quality Indicator (PQI).
  • Troubleshooting, identifying, correcting, and preventing quality control issues, together with reporting and record keeping.

Ideally, we are seeking previous experience in the surfacing and production of asphalt with any civil or materials background considered advantageous. Together with a strong commitment to safety, effective communication skills, a valid driver's licence, and basic computer skills.
