With several projects underway, Fulton Hogan is looking for a Foreman to join its Southern Region Construction business based in Hobart to supervise and deliver these works. Our construction division specialises in delivering civil works from wetlands to roadworks for government, councils, private enterprises and utility providers with a great track record and reputation. With continued growth in the region, we are looking to bring in an experienced and driven professional that wants to continue to see growth in their career.
Whilst based in Hobart, our construction team deliver projects throughout Tasmania, as such there will be an expectation that the successful candidate is willing to travel wherever necessary to meet the requirements of the role (expenses and LAFHA will be provided in these instances).
As a Foreman, you will:
- Manage site and organise labour, subcontractor, supplier and material resources (including Plant Hire) for projects.
- Provide general oversight of multiple worksites, to ensure that effective planning and execution of work is undertaken in accordance with Fulton Hogan systems, policies and procedures.
- Clearly establish performance expectations, ensure team members are competent, compliant and accountable in line with REAL values and behaviours.
- Deliver daily prestart meetings and toolboxes while upskilling leading hands and the team to deliver these key safety messages effectively.
- Understand and meet the construction program to ensure on time completion.
- Proactively address any site and project timeline issues, problem solving and provide solutions.
- Daily monitoring of site activity costs and records and identifying potential claims (variations/EOT) and productivity savings.
- Liaising with relevant stakeholders including management, council, clients, the public.
- Understanding, implementing, and monitoring HSEQ requirements to meet the company and client’s expectations.
- Ensure control measures are implemented and met by site personnel to minimise risk to health and safety of themselves and others through SWMS, Permits, Special Processes and Corrective Actions.
- Specific experience gained within civil infrastructure construction, water experience is desirable.
- Experience working with government and local council-based clients.
- 5+ years’ prior experience as a Foreman.
- Comfortable overseeing projects ranging in value from $500k - $30m.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to use technology.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Willingness to travel to various locations throughout Tasmania as per project requirements.
