Join our dynamic Urology team and gain hands‑on experience across a broad spectrum of clinical practice. We are looking for a motivated resident doctor ready to contribute to a growing service and work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity to build clinical skills, contribute to a forward‑thinking department, and make a meaningful impact on patient care.
Location: The Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, Essex (CM20 1QX). Outpatient sessions are held at St Margaret’s Hospital, Epping and Herts & Essex Hospital, Bishops Stortford.
Working Pattern: Full‑time, 40 hours per week (8 am–5 pm, Monday–Friday). No on‑call commitments.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Specialist Registrar in the treatment of all patients under their care and visit all patients each morning.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Trust policies.
- Support ward rounds and FY1 resident doctors.
- Work in the Same Day Emergency Care unit and attend clinics and theatre lists in a supernumerary capacity.
- Complete discharge and audit forms and provide accurate discharge summaries.
- Be familiar with hospital emergency response protocols.
Qualifications:
- MBBS (or equivalent).
- Completed Foundation Programme (FY1 & FY2).
- Registration with the GMC and a licence to practice.
Desirable:
- MRCS or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in Urology within the UK for at least 3–6 months (FY2/SHO).
- Experience of working in multi‑specialty teams.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Participation in relevant audits.
