An opportunity is available for an inpatient Physiotherapist to join our innovative team at Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, based in Harlow, Essex. We provide ongoing care to a broad range of patients, ranging from those who are critically unwell to those who need minimal rehabilitation or assessment and advice. You will be responsible for providing a high standard of assessment, advice, treatment, and evaluation of patients referred to the acute Inpatient Physiotherapy Service, including patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions. In return, you will be supported in your efforts to build on your previous experience to further develop your clinical competencies and leadership skills.

This is a part-time post of 15 hours per week and forms part of a job share. Assistance could be provided for suitable return to practice candidates.
As a senior member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will be integral to the efficient and effective running of the Physiotherapy service, and will assist the Specialty Team Lead in providing the highest standard of care to patients referred to us while also working to improve the service where needed. You will also supervise rotational physiotherapists and support them in their work, while leading the clinical education and practice of student physiotherapists and assisting in department-wide training. Often you will work without direct supervision, and as such you will be responsible for managing your own caseload and the seamless transfer of physiotherapy care for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type. Effective communication with patients, carers, and all other members of the multi-disciplinary team is paramount, and you will also act as an advocate on behalf of patients for their safety and to ensure they have a positive experience.
The post holder will be responsible for managing their own workload, prioritising tasks effectively, and ensuring deadlines are met. They will be expected to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to high standards. The role may involve working across multiple sites and requires excellent communication and organisational skills.
