Set in the vibrant seaside town of North Berwick, The Nether Abbey Hotel is very popular all year round with visitors and locals.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented chef who is ready on to take a new challenge and to develop his/her career within an award-winning hotel.

The Sous Chef role is a hands on one, to assist in leading a dedicated team of chefs and kitchen support staff. The development of the team, consistency/quality of services, and food are key responsibilities of the role. They also are part of the ethos of this established, growing, respected company to keep a head of the competition in the marketplace.

In particular we are looking for;

• successful experience as a CDP or Junior Sous Chef in a similar venue, or equivalent role
• experience of managing, motivating and training a team of chefs
• budget management experience in terms of food and labour costs control
• knowledge and understanding of sourcing excellent local and seasonal produce
• previous experience of delivering cost effective menus
• HACCP knowledge
• Strong organisational skills
• Be passionate about delivering excellent dishes to our guests.

Previous experience working in a busy kitchen team for at least five years.
