We are looking for an enthusiastic Sous chef to join our team here at The Lamb in Shipton under Wychwood.
We focus on a straightforward, well sourced, wine, beer & spirit selection, Good, classic, nose to tail, British pub style food, Neapolitan style pizzas, plenty of game & offal and very little ‘mucking around’.. Not a micro herb in sight anddefinitely no tweezers.
We have built an excellent reputation here in The Cotswolds, with a passion forfreshly prepared, often locally sourced food. We change dishes on the menu each month with weekly specials every weekend.

Role & Responsibilities:
As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen and consistently deliver high-quality dishes. You will be responsible for:
- Leading and motivating a team of kitchen staff.
- Overseeing food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet the restaurant’s standards.
- Ensuring food safety and cleanliness regulations are strictly adhered to.
- Assisting in menu development and maintaining stock levels.
- Managing kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Training and developing junior kitchen staff.
- Ensuring efficiency and timely service during peak hours.
- Contributing to maintaining a positive and collaborative kitchen atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.
- A strong understanding of kitchen operations and a passion for delivering exceptional food.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
- Creativity and a willingness to innovate.
- A genuine passion for food and hospitality.
- A relevant culinary qualification is desirable.
