Together, you’ll ensure top‑notch food quality and service and will inspire autonomy and empowerment within the Kitchen team, fostering an environment of culinary harmony and efficiency. You’ll also be passionate about Cumbrian culture, cuisine, and our local food and beverage producers, and act as the first point of culinary contact for our guests at the start of each new day, crafting food that is as nourishing as it is memorable. • Responsible for the execution of the full breakfast service, including preparing and portioning appropriate quantities of bacon, sausages, and other items.
  • Preparing, cooking and serving various egg dishes, porridges, or any other dishes that may be required.
  • Slicing cold meat, cutting fruit, and preparing compotes required for the cold buffet, and maintaining fresh items from day to day.
  • Preparing, cooking, and serving food as required, ensuring accurate portion control while maintaining an appealing and high‑quality presentation.
  • Preparing the children’s buffet (when required) in line with expected numbers, ensuring a balanced menu and avoiding unnecessary repetition.
  • Ensuring compliance with all instructions given by your immediate supervisor.
  • Preparing for the day’s business in accordance with projected needs.
  • Following all schedules within the kitchen and completing daily check sheets and temperature logs.
  • Partaking in the smooth running of all aspects of the kitchen and back of house areas.
  • Responsible for undertaking associated tasks during preparation, storage and service of food.
  • Maintaining an organised, clean and safe workplace, not only for yourself but also for those around.
  • Correctly recording all waste in the appropriate given method (in accordance with the kitchen wastage sheets).
  • Flexible attitude to working hours and variable shift patterns.
  • An interest in, and passion for, the food industry.
  • NVQ level 1& 2 or equivalent (as a minimum).
  • A natural team‑player with a positive, proactive mindset.
  • Guest service focused.
  • Ensuring responsible use of equipment and materials, maintaining a high duty of care within potentially hazardous food‑preparation environments.
  • A keen desire to develop and an eagerness to learn.
  • Professional personal presentation and approach.
