What You’ll Be Handling Day-to-Day:
- Scheduled Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, filter replacement, and inspections, ensuring turbines meet operational standards.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on wind turbines using specialised tools and technology.
- Component Replacement: Replace faulty components, including blades, gearboxes, and electrical systems.
- Data Logging: Collect and report turbine performance data, ensuring accurate records of inspections, repairs, and adjustments.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures, using personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Travel: This is a travel-based role, requiring frequent travel across the UK and other countries within Europe.
On the Windy Frontline: During all activities, you are responsible for maintaining customer contact on site to update them on the status.
Safety & Quality: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, identifying and mitigating potential hazards. You are responsible for checking and maintaining the quality of all components relating to the wind turbine, as well as recognising interconnections within the system’s architecture. You are accountable for the safe and effective operation of electrical and mechanical components within the wind turbine.
Catch the Breeze of Improvement: Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to implement improvements and optimise turbine performance. Continuously improving the performance of our wind turbine fleet based on the error/gap analysis, response times and Operational Data statistics. You will also, on occasion, work on tasks with the control room, remote monitoring of wind turbines worldwide.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems related to wind turbines.
Education: Degree or diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related fields preferred. Equivalent work experience is also considered.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years working in the wind industry or similar industrial fields.
Languages: Fluency in English is required.
Physical Fitness: Ability to climb wind turbines, work at heights, and carry out physically demanding tasks.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a focus on achieving results.
Driving License: A valid driver’s license is essential due to the nature of the travel required for this role.
