The Keysoe Café offers the community a hub where people are able to come together to enjoy quality meals, prepared on site using locally sourced fresh ingredients. We are recruiting for the position of Junior Sous Chef to provide support to the Chef in delivering a consistently high quality across the food offering. This role will focus on the preparation of freshly prepared lunch bites in addition to luxury deli items to include cakes and baked goods.

The role offers sociable working hours, on a shift pattern of 5 days over 7 including weekends. We pay competitively and offer a variety of benefits to include private healthcare and pension contribution. About the role:

  • Prepare and assemble all menu items according to our own recipes and customer preferences
  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and available for daily use
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any inquiries or special requests
  • Support the Chef as required

37.5 hours per week - 07:30 to 15:30

About you:

  • Demonstrable experience of being a Junior Sous Chef working with fresh ingredients and experience of cooking and baking.
  • Must be able to work weekends (at least 2 in 4)
  • Knowledge of Food Safety or Hygiene protocols
  • Conference or Banquet experience is a bonus
  • Have a flexible approach to teamwork; being able to think on your own, yet care about the broader team
