A leading Tier 1 design and build contractor operating within the UK water sector is seeking an experienced Senior Process Design Engineer / Process Engineer to support long-term delivery on the Anglian Water framework. This is a 100% remote contract role offering continuity of work across clean water capital projects within a mature, well-established framework environment. The role would suit a hands-on Process Engineer or Process Design Engineer with strong UK water sector experience.
The Role
As a Senior Process Design Engineer, you will take technical ownership of process design activities across clean water projects, supporting delivery from concept through to construction. Working alongside multi-disciplinary design teams, the Process Engineer will ensure all process design outputs are robust, compliant, and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and check process design outputs across the full project lifecycle
- Review mass balances, process sizing, hydraulic calculations, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams
- Provide technical responses to design queries and change requests during construction
- Support process design acceptance through internal and client design reviews
- Input into supplier and third-party process documentation reviews
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and hazardous area regulations (including DSEAR)
- Provide technical guidance to junior Process Engineers where required
- Contribute to HAZOPs, design reviews, and framework technical meetings
About You
- Relevant engineering degree (Process, Chemical, Environmental, or Water Engineering) or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Strong experience as a Process Engineer or Process Design Engineer within the UK water sector
- Proven background delivering clean water process design on capital projects
- Good working knowledge of UK water industry standards and regulations
- Experience in a Design & Build environment is advantageous
- Able to work autonomously in a remote contract role
