We are recruiting for a Planner / Planning Engineer to support a major nuclear decommissioning programme in Kent. This is a rare opportunity to be involved in a highly regulated, technically complex decommissioning environment. The role would suit a Planner with strong Primavera P6 experience who is confident building and managing cost and resource loaded programmes within a structured project controls environment.

You will work closely with Project Managers and the wider Project Controls team to develop, monitor and maintain robust project schedules, incorporating risk, change, resource requirements and cost.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, monitoring and reporting on project schedules across a designated portfolio of work
  • Building and maintaining cost and resource loaded, logic-linked plans in Primavera P6
  • Capturing budgetary costs and resources within the plan to support time-phased expenditure and project budget visibility
  • Establishing and maintaining Work Breakdown Structures and Project Control Structures
  • Maintaining project baselines in line with project procedures
  • Challenging schedule, cost and resource variances against baseline plans
  • Supporting Earned Value Management methodology and reporting
  • Working with Project Managers and Project Controls colleagues to ensure the programme remains aligned with the financial position

Essential experience:

  • Strong Primavera P6 planning experience
  • Experience building cost and resource loaded project plans
  • Good understanding of Earned Value Analysis / EVM
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Ability to work closely with project delivery and project controls teams

Desirable experience:

  • Experience within nuclear, energy, utilities, infrastructure, defence or another highly regulated environment
  • Understanding of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools
  • HNC / HND, degree qualification or relevant experience within a cost, planning or project controls discipline

Important location information: The role is Inside IR35 and requires site attendance in Kent 4 days per week, so applicants must be based within a realistic commute or genuinely willing to relocate for the duration of the contract.
