We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with Water Utilities experience to deliver mechanical and MEICA projects across Thames Water and Southern Water frameworks. This is primarily an office-based role near Reading, with regular travel to water and wastewater project sites across the Thames and Southern regions for site surveys, progress meetings and project delivery. Ideal for candidates based within commuting distance of Reading who are comfortable with site-based project oversight.

The Role - Mechanical Project Manager (Water / MEICA)

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for delivering mechanical installation and fabrication projects typically valued between £10k and £2m within operational water and wastewater environments. You will manage projects from initial site survey and technical scoping through procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and client handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full lifecycle management of mechanical projects within Water Utilities
  • Site surveys and site measurements
  • Producing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Coordinating mechanical installation and fabrication works
  • Managing subcontractors and internal labour resources
  • Budget control, cost monitoring and variation management
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM, H&S and quality standards
  • Acting as primary client liaison across project delivery

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager
  • Experience delivering projects within Water Utilities or regulated infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of mechanical installations and fabrication
  • Experience preparing RAMS and project documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • MEICA project experience
  • IOSH or NEBOSH
  • Experience working on Thames Water or Southern Water frameworks
