We’re recruiting on behalf of our client, looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer / Automation Engineer with a strong background across PLC and HMI systems (Siemens TIA Portal), as well as wider telemetry and SCADA platforms, to support a major infrastructure programme.
This role would suit someone with full project lifecycle experience – from design through to commissioning.
With autonomy over your own diary, you’ll likely spend the first couple of weeks at HQ before having the option to work remotely or in the office, with site visits across the region as project requirements.
The role:
You’ll be involved across both design and site delivery, including:
• PLC software development against functional specifications
• HMI / SCADA development and configuration
• Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and system validation
• Site commissioning, installation and functional testing
• Integration of legacy PLC systems
• Telemetry setup and testing
• Industrial network configuration (fibre, Ethernet, radio)
• Working closely with project and site teams to deliver automation solutions
Ideal experience:
Strong experience across industrial automation environments, ideally including:
• Siemens TIA Portal and/or Step7
• PLC & HMI programming
• Commissioning experience on live industrial sites
• SCADA / telemetry systems
• Industrial communications (Profibus, fibre, Ethernet networks)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
Experience within process, utilities, or heavy industrial environments would be beneficial, but our client is open to transferable skills and knowledge from other sectors.
