We are looking for a dedicated Building Surveyor to join our dynamic and driven construction consultancy, working with our Public Sector team across a range of projects, from healthcare, blue light, education and local government.

As a Building Surveyor, you will work closely with Senior Building Surveyors and Associates to oversee projects from start to finish, collaborating with a diverse team of construction professionals and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget. The role offers hybrid working with on‑site visits as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Act as Contract Administrator and/or Employer’s Agent when required
  • Prepare project design and specifications
  • Manage projects of varied size and complexity
  • Undertake surveys and site inspections
  • Prepare tender documentation, undertake tender evaluations and present tender recommendations
  • Provide contractual advice pre‑ and post‑contract to other design team members and clients
  • Prepare existing and proposed plans in CAD format, managing the review of plans
  • Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary project teams
  • Act as lead designer
  • Coordinate site visits and surveys
  • Handle general day‑to‑day project duties
  • Prepare feasibility reports
  • Prepare Building Regulation and planning applications
  • Assist senior surveyors and associate directors with Party Wall Matters, Acquisition and Condition Surveys, and Dilapidations
  • Maintain technical knowledge of buildings, construction, management and operations, including defects, and support colleagues’ technical understanding
  • Adhere to company health and safety procedures and take personal responsibility for health and safety
  • Contribute to improving our social and environmental impact
  • Perform other duties as reasonably required
Requirements
  • Degree qualification (RICS‑accredited or equivalent)
  • Chartered or working towards RICS chartership
  • Strong technical grounding across all core areas of building surveying
  • Client‑focused mindset with a drive to deliver cost‑effective, outcome‑based solutions
  • Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision
  • Confidence in networking and interest in supporting business development activities
  • Capability to delegate tasks effectively and develop leadership skills

Note: This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check due to client requirements.
