What does the role involve?
Asa CDM Principal Designer, you willprovide our clients with comprehensive advice on all aspects of the H&S and CDM Regulations.
You willalso provide a structured platform in which to undertake effective design risk management whilst fulfilling the Principal Designer duties on projects, from feasibility through tohandover of the Health and Safety File.
Responsibilities
- Act as Principal Designer and ensure client duties are fulfilled under CDM 2015
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the pre-construction phase of projects, including submission of F10 notifications to the HSE
- Advise clients and project teams on health and safety and design risk management throughout design and construction
- Ensure design team compliance with CDM 2015, reviewing andassistingwith Design Risk Assessments
- Prepare and review key project health and safety documentation, including pre-construction information, risk assessments, method statements and Health & Safety Files
- Conduct CDM site audits andmonitorhealth and safety performance on behalf of the client
- Attend design, site and progress meetings to support effective communication betweencontractors, designers and clients
- Provide support to Senior Consultants on complex or high-risk projects
- Review O&M manuals and ensureaccurateand compliant handover documentation
- Uphold health and safetystandards and support environmental and socialimpact
- Carry outadditionalduties in line with the role asrequired
- Ideally IOSH/Association for Project Safety qualification or working towards
- Previousexperience in a similar role
- Knowledge of CDM2015 implementation
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
- Experience of using a wide range of tools and processes within your role; from simple and effective risk registers to sophisticated risk modelling software
- Experience in providing and translating to our clients, the best advice to help develop risk responses and plans toeliminatethe risks on their projects or within their existing facilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skill as the role is client facing
- Ability to produce your own documentation based on our standards
- Strong organisational and time management skills in the delivery of the services for multiple projects at any one time
