We are looking for a passionate and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic and driven construction consultancy. Join us and lead in supporting the delivery of a range of complex projects, working on a hybrid basis from our London office.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be taking the commercial lead in the delivery of projects, from inception to completion. The role involves working with the Project Team to allow projects to be delivered safely on time and to budget whilst ensuring high levels of client satisfaction whilst supporting the development of Assistants and Surveyors.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the production and management of cost plans, life cycle costing, cash flow forecasts and benchmarking using relevant data sources.
- Oversee procurement activities, including preparation of tender documentation, bills of quantities, pricing documents, procurement reports, and managing the full tender and evaluation process.
- Manage contract negotiations, prepare and collate contract documents, and act as a key client liaison throughout pre- and post-contract stages.
- Administer contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent, including issuing instructions, managing snagging, overseeing practical completion, and post-contract duties.
- Manage post-contract responsibilities such as interim valuations, cost reporting, change control, evaluation of variations, final accounts, and dispute resolution.
- Contribute to and oversee risk registers, value engineering, and value management reporting.
- Support the Associate Director in fee bids, resource and fee management, reporting, and maintaining client relationships.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Assistant and Quantity Surveyors.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates to internal systems and sign-off of invoices.
- Maintain quality assurance standards and best practice procedures across all projects.
- Uphold health and safety standards and support environmental and social impact.
- Carry out additional duties in line with the role as required.
Requirements:
- Ideally Chartered accreditation with previous experience working within the construction industry in a similar discipline.
- Ability to deliver larger and more complex projects through the whole project lifecycle.
- Excellent experience based technical/project knowledge.
- Ability to delegate tasks to others within the team and support their work.
- Support junior members of the team with mentoring and development.
- Development of leadership and management skills.
- Ability to manage fees and assist with fee bids.
- Generate new work through the management of client relations.
- Ability to work on own initiative to drive to generate new business.
- Understanding of the account management process.
- Ability to analyse projects and report performance to line manager.
- Excellent knowledge of internal systems and processes in order to advise and guide others.
- Excellent knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.
