Position Purpose: The Performance Scientist will provide support to the First Team Performance department, assisting in the delivery of sport science and S&C services aimed at optimising player performance, reducing injury risk, and facilitating rehabilitation. This role will work under the guidance of the Head of player insights and alongside other members of the performance team to contribute to the overall success of the First Team.

Job Requirements:

  • 4 years’ experience of working within professional football or elite sport environments
  • Experience of working within a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Experience in reporting physical data
  • Experience of leading on pitch/off pitch delivery and rehabilitation

Essential skills, knowledge & qualifications:

  • BSc in Sports Science / Strength & Conditioning
  • Strong data analytical and reporting skill set (excel, R, Tableau, Powerbi)
  • Experience assisting and leading gym programming

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete general sport science tasks (Reporting, GPS recording, testing, conditioning, etc.)
  • Conduct power & strength‑based testing and deliver reports to respective leads
  • Contribute to recovery methods using evidence‑based methods/techniques
  • Assist with match day sports science & S&C provision
  • Assist Research & Development run by the club
  • Assist leading staff with player profiling/testing of all first team players
  • Assist leading staff with set up & delivery of all strength and power sessions for 1st team players
  • Assist the senior with set up & delivery of player pre‑activation sessions
  • Assist with delivery of field‑based warm‑ups and conditioning sessions
