Work under the direction of line manager, to develop and maintain the Craven Cottage Football Pitch and surrounding landscapes, with the target to achieve the highest pitch parameters and maintenance standards expected by the Head of Grounds, Squad Management and Directors of the Club.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the Craven Cottage is maintained to the highest standard.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure that all machines, tools, equipment, and club properties are maintained appropriately.
  • Assist current team with daily procedures which are not limited to mowing, line marking, aeration, fertilising, top dressing, seeding, pitch light movements.
  • Work alongside experienced staff who will assist you with a wide range of jobs associated with maintaining the Club’s grounds.
  • Assist on matchday preparations and post‑match works on the pitch.
  • Assist in end of season pitch renovations.

Matchday / Weekend work

  • Prepare and repair pitch before and after games.
  • General maintenance of the pitch, landscapes & equipment.
  • Watering and pitch light movements.
  • Upload pitch testing results to software platform and inform Head of Grounds of any damage, disease or areas of concern which may affect pitch standard.
  • Due to Premier League scheduling there will be potential early morning start times and late evening finishing times.

Job Requirements

Essential

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years in the sports turf industry.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • PA1, PA2 & PA6 spraying certificates.
  • Level 2 Sports Turf Management or equivalent.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Ability to provide written and/or verbal progress reports to management.
  • Machinery maintenance and setup of machinery.
