Are you passionate about football and looking for a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young athletes, aged 15-21? Fulham FC is seeking warm and welcoming host families to provide a safe and supportive home environment to support our Academy players who will be required to live away from home to fulfil their education and football training at our club.
As a host parent, you will play an essential role in helping our players thrive both on and off the pitch. You'll provide a comfortable living space, home-cooked meals, emotional support and help them to adjust to life away from home as they focus on their training and academic pursuits.
What we are looking for:
- A friendly, caring family or individual with a spare room
- A willingness to provide support, guidance, and encouragement to our young players
- A safe and welcoming home environment
- Support our young people by teaching them basic independent living and self-care skills such as washing, cooking and cleaning up after themselves.
- Providing meals in line with nutritional guidance from the Academy.
- Accommodation has access to public and local amenities with good transport links to the Academy training ground.
- Report any welfare concerns to the Academy Safeguarding and Player Care team should they occur.
- Include our young people in family life as much as they feel comfortable with.
The club will regularly inspect and visit the placement during the season. The club will provide further guidance to host families, young people and their parents explaining what would be expected of them.
In order to be considered for this position you must live within 30 minutes travel for the player from the training ground. Fulham Football Club is committed to safeguarding and ensuring the welfare and protection of children and young people and expects host families to share this commitment. As such, the host family provider will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check and risk assessments prior to a placement commencing. Any other person over the age of 18, who resides in the household or has regular contact with the player will be required to complete an enhanced DBS. Host Families will be required to attend safeguarding training and workshops arranged by the Academy.
