Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Teacher to join our team on a fixed-term basis covering maternity leave.

This role is expected to last for approximately 8 months from November 2026.

The Post-16 Teacher will lead on the delivery of the Academy’s scholarship education programme, primarily teaching the BTEC Level 3 in Sporting Performance and Excellence, as well as the Sporting Excellence Professional (SEP) qualification.

You will consistently deliver outstanding teaching and learning in your own practice and play a key role in driving high standards of teaching and learning across the department.

You will be responsible for ensuring players make good progress towards their target grades in each qualification.

The successful candidate will play a key role within the pastoral team, supporting the holistic, off-pitch development of our players.

Operating across phases, the role’s primary purpose is to add value to all aspects of our players’ educational programmes and to contribute towards maintaining the Academy’s Category 1 status.

Requirements

The Academy Education Post-16 Teacher must have

  • Educated to degree level.
  • PGCE with QTS or equivalent.
  • Experience of delivering a BTEC at KS5.
  • Experience of delivering KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
  • A commitment to plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that drive outstanding teaching and learning, ensuring all learners make sustained progress.
  • Working knowledge of BTEC qualifications.
  • A commitment and experience of supporting young people holistically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with players, parents, and colleagues.

Ideally Academy Education Post-16 Teacher will have

  • Experience working within an elite sporting or performance environment.
  • Knowledge of Academy football and the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).
  • Experience of delivering an A-Level.
  • Experience delivering the Sporting Excellence Professional (SEP) apprenticeship.
  • PE based teaching experience.
  • Experience in coordinating or leading education programmes.
  • Experience of working with external partners, including schools and awarding bodies.
