A merchant / construction materials supplier background who has strong product knowledge and is keen to move into a Buyer role with a progressive contractor. The role is a group-wide position, supporting multiple divisions across building, civil engineering, structural works, mechanical and electrical, and wider construction operations.
The Role
- Procurement of construction materials across live projects
- Plant on-hire and off-hire coordination
- Liaising with site teams to understand material and plant requirements
- Obtaining quotes and comparing supplier prices, availability and lead times
- Raising purchase orders accurately and efficiently
- Maintaining regular contact with suppliers and subcontractors
- Supporting best value purchasing across the group
- Assisting with subcontract procurement where required
- Working closely with operational, commercial and site teams
