Fulcrum Engineering & Technical is an employment business acting on behalf of our clients. We are recruiting personnel at all levels for various welding fabrication roles, matching candidates’ skill sets and experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Fabricator welders will focus on fabrication work and higher specification welding using TIG.
- Sheet metal fabricators will work from engineering drawings, handling angles, boxes, and tubes to achieve high‑spec finishes.
- TIG welders primarily weld sheet metal (1.5‑4 mm stainless or mild steel, aluminum, mild steel angles, boxes, tubes) using TIG or MIG.
- Semi‑skilled applicants may apply if they can handle most tasks given their skill set.
Qualifications
- Ability to fabricate and weld primarily with TIG and occasionally with MIG.
- Experience welding sheet metal 1.5–4 mm stainless or mild steel, aluminum, mild steel angles, boxes, tubes using TIG or MIG.
- Ideally holding a C&G or NVQ in Welding Fabrication or Sheet Metal Work.
- Experience using tube bending machine, press brake, and other workshop machinery and tools.
Working Hours & Term
- Hours: 07:00–16:00, with overtime after 40 hours.
- Monday to Friday: 06:00–17:00 or 07:00–18:00 as required.
- Saturday: 06:00 or 07:00 to 13:30 as required.
- Term: Temporary to permanent, 13 weeks with a strong chance of permanent placement after full assessment. Permanent roles may be available if the applicant is currently employed and can provide notice.
Pay
- Temporary rate: £22 per hour for basic 50 hours, plus £27 per hour on Saturdays, depending on skills/qualifications.
