Fulcrum Engineering & Technical are acting as an Employment Business on behalf of our Clients. We are recruiting personnel at all levels and covering Pipe & Mechanical Fitting & Welding and Welding Fabrication roles depending on applicants’ skill sets & experience. Roles include Fabricator Welders (fabrication on sheet metal, plate, pipework for higher spec fabrication such as tanks, vessels, conveyors) and Mechanical Fitter Welder Fabs & Fabricator Fitter Welders. Work covers the installation of mechanical & piping systems and machinery from the fab shop to sites locally and UK-wide.
Responsibilities
- Fabrication from engineering drawings and welding angles, boxes, and tubes to high-spec finishes.
- Welding with TIG (mainly) and MIG on supports & frames; TIG welding on sheet metal (1.5–4 mm) stainless or mild steel, aluminium, and mild steel angles/boxes; ideally able to weld pipe & tube with TIG or MIG.
- Assist with installation work on factories/process plants when busy; semi-skilled applicants may apply if capable of covering most tasks.
- Work mainly in the Fab Shop with travel to sites as required; some workers may be asked to assist on site.
- Travel to sites and lodging away for 4+ nights when sites are more than 2 hours away; travel, hotel, and meals paid by the company.
Qualifications
- C&G or NVQ in Welding/Fabrication or Sheet Metalwork or Mechanical Fitting
- Safety CSCS Card or IOSH Safety Certification
- IPAF - MEWP Card
Hours
0700–1630, with usual shifts often extending to 1730 or 1900 and some weekends.
Term
6–13 weeks on a position with potential for longer-term work up to 26 weeks.
