Fulcrum Engineering & Technical, acting as an employment business, is recruiting sheet metalwork and welding fabrication personnel at various skill levels.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld sheet metal, plates, pipes, and tubes based on engineering drawings.
- Perform TIG welding on stainless or mild steel sheet metal ranging from 1.5‑4 mm.
- Work with TIG and MIG welding for pipe and tube assembly.
- Assist with high‑spec fabrication tasks such as tanks, vessels, and conveyors.
- Use tube‑bending machines, press brakes, and other workshop machinery and tools.
- Provide support in installation work at factories or process plants when needed.
Qualifications
- Experience with TIG welding (primarily) and MIG welding as required.
- Preferably holding C & G or NVQ qualifications in Welding Fabrication or Sheet Metalwork.
- Proficiency in operating tube‑bending machines, press brakes, and related workshop equipment.
Hours
- Monday to Friday: 07:30‑16:00 or 17:30 (40‑48 hours per week, up to 55 hours).
- Saturday (optional): 06:00/07:00‑13:30.
Terms
- Temporary contract: 6 to 13 weeks.
- Temporary‑to‑Permanent contract: 13‑26 weeks, with a strong possibility of permanent placement thereafter.
- Direct permanent roles may be available for suitable applicants.
Pay
- £24.00 per hour (up to 60 hours) for temporary contracts; £29.00 per hour on Saturdays.
- Pay rates may vary based on skills and qualifications.
