Fulcrum Engineering & Technical are acting as an Employment Business on behalf of our Clients. We are recruiting personnel at all levels: Semi Skilled, Mates, Ops & Skilled Trades & Techs. Covering similar Mechanical - Pipe Fitting roles or Fabrication & Welding roles depending on applicants' skill sets & experience.
Fire Watchers - Mates will assist Skilled Trades with various types of work, including:
- Fitting of pipe spools, supports, valves, pumps, and process machinery components.
- Cutting out old sheet/plate in vessels, tanks & silos using plasma & grinders as required.
- Assisting with erecting & fitting work depending on the Workers' skill sets.
- Helping Welders & Platers set up welding plant & power cables at work areas.
Working on a rota basis to cover Safety work such as Fire Watching, which includes:
- Setting up work areas with fire blankets, fire extinguishers, and welding screen sheeting.
- Fire Watching during grinding work, plasma cutting work & welding work.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Good all-round skills/experience assisting with Pipe Fitting & Mechanical Fitting work or able to perform fabrication & welding work.
- Ideally Fire Watching experience.
- Fire Watching Certificate, First Aid at Work Certificate, and Abrasive Wheels Certificate are advantageous.
- Confined Space Certificates are also beneficial.
- At least part qualified or skilled/experienced within C & G or NVQ Welding Fabrication, Plating, Sheet Metalwork, or Pipe - Mechanical Fitting.
- CSCS Card or CCNSG Safety Passport is preferred.
Hours: 0700 – to 57.5 hours Mon to Fri, possible work 0600 – 1700 or as required. Also 0600 or 0700 to 1330 Sat as required.
Term: Temporary 4 to 8 weeks with a good chance of a longer-term role of 12 to 18 weeks subject to attendance, timekeeping, suitability for the type of work, and workload.
Pay: Temporary rates are Semi Skilled £19.50 & Mates £17.50 per hour basic up to 60 hours Mon to Fri, plus an extra £5 per hour on Sat via Payment Company on CIS or PAYE Basis depending on Skills/Qualifications.
