This role involves working on pipe systems in industrial settings, including ongoing project work, modifications, and urgent shut‑down repair tasks.
Responsibilities
- Work on small‑bore process pipework (15‑50 mm main)
- Connect pipework to panels, valves, and manifolds using general and PID engineering drawings
- Fit pipework with screws, maypress, press fit, and small‑bore compression fittings
- Complete pipework checks and tests
- Install mechanical systems on machinery in process plants and factories
- Erect fitting steel work platforms on food factory sites
- Operate scissor lifts or cherry pickers (IPAF certified)
Location & Travel
Primary sites: Haverhill, Sudbury, Bury St Eds, and other areas. Ideal candidate lives within 10‑30 miles of the main site; candidates travelling further may be considered with lodging arrangements.
Hours & Term
Hours: 07:00‑17:00 Mon‑Fri, 07:00‑15:30 Sat, Sun if required. Term: 8‑13 weeks, with potential extensions based on attendance, performance, and workload.
Pay
Skilled: £27 / hr Mon‑Fri, £34 / hr Sat, £38 / hr Sun. Semi‑skilled: £17‑20 / hr.
