Fulbridge Social Care is recruiting for full-time Children's Residential Workers for a private children's residential care home in Hinckley. You will work within a specialist unit supporting young people aged 13 to 17 with challenging behaviours and complex needs such as autism, eating disorders, sexualised behaviour, self-harm, aggression, and addiction. You must understand the complexities of challenging behaviour and have experience working or interacting with young people with complex needs.

Candidates should be confident, self-aware, interactive, and knowledgeable about why young people are in care and the challenges faced in a children's residential setting. We seek ambitious individuals who aspire to succeed in this role and make a positive impact on young people's lives both short-term and long-term.

A driving license is required to operate the on-site vehicle for social activities and family contact. An enhanced DBS check must be obtained, paid by the employer unless you are registered on the government's online status checks. Applicants should be qualified to at least Level 3 Diploma in Working with Children and Young People (or equivalent) or have relevant experience working with young people or challenging behaviour and complex needs. Candidates must be at least 21 years old due to the age of the young people served, as the role involves working with minors, and this position is exempt from the employment equality (age) regulation of 2006.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Build strong professional relationships with service users and staff.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for young people and staff.
  • Keep up-to-date with communication and information systems.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings.
  • Support young people in managing their behaviour using approved skills.
  • Promote equality and acknowledge individual differences.
  • Protect service users from abuse by staff, visitors, or other service users.
  • Write accurate reports for reviews and keep records for monitoring purposes.
  • Attend all required training and achieve relevant qualifications.
  • Attend work reliably and punctually, following a set shift pattern.

  • Ensure health and safety for yourself and others.
  • Undertake additional duties relevant to the role as required.
