- Role and Responsibilities
An experienced Transition and Transformation Senior Project Manager will lead the programme from bid to delivery, owning direction and vision, managing programme and functional activities, risks, issues, stakeholder engagement, and communications to deliver new capabilities and benefits.
The role will connect the bid phase, programme delivery and strategic direction, ensuring contracted customer strategy and business targets are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead bid and programme delivery within the public sector (applications, infrastructure, migrations, cloud solutions).
- Manage large programme budgets (£multi‑million), forecasting, cost control and ROI analysis.
- Allocate and optimise shared resources across multiple projects within the programme.
- Apply project/programme management methodologies (MSP, PMP, PRINCE2, Waterfall, Agile at Scale such as SAFe).
- Strategic planning – create single‑page plans, address customer queries, develop cost and resource plans, and present to clients and governance in the bid phase.
- Lead and assume full accountability for program implementation, setting strategic direction and achieving objectives.
- Cultivate complex stakeholder relationships (clients, business units, third‑party vendors, governing bodies).
- Guide organisational transformations, facilitating seamless transitions and change adoption.
- Implement a risk‑controlled framework, managing programme and business risks, financial aspects and contingency planning.
- Develop and present KPIs, escalation reports and stage assessments for executive decision‑making.
- Articulate clear program benefits and maximise their realisation through integration into the organisation.
